GermStar Noro is one of the few hand sanitizers that I recommend because it has been tested and shown to kill the norovirus surrogate.
Germstar Noro is an alcohol hand sanitizer spray. It is specifically designed to kill norovirus and is 63% ethanol. For this experiment, I tested my son's hands after school and my husband's hands after work. They each pressed one "dirty" (but visibly clean) hand into the agar plate. Then I sprayed about 15 sprays of Germstar Noro on their other hand. I rubbed it in myself and let it dry for 1 minute. Then their pressed their Germstar Noro treated hand onto another plate.
The results show that GermStar Noro is definitely capable of killing bacteria.
