Fruit & Vegetable Testing

There have been many disease outbreaks linked to fresh produce. For example, a Cyclospora outbreak was traced to bagged lettuce. There have been e.coli, norovirus, salmonella, and HepA outbreaks linked to spinach, raspberries, and frozen mixed berries. Sprouts are always in trouble for something. I decided to investigate how dirty our produce really is and how well our produce washing methods work. If you read no further, it is worth noting that packaged pre-sliced apples, packaged baby carrots, and packaged shredded iceberg lettuce are unexplainably germy.
