Ecohydra Hand Sanitizer Testing

EcoHydra Hand Sanitizer

Ecohydra is another benzalkonium chloride based hand sanitizing foam that claims to kill a norovirus surrogate. I tested the Ecohydra on my children's hands when they were clean looking and not too dirty. Just like before, I rinsed their left hand for 10 seconds under cool water. They rubbed their left hand all over an agar plate. Then I put 3 pumps of ecohydra onto their right hand and rubbed it all around. I let it sit for 1 minute and then rinsed that hand for 10 seconds under cool water. Then the child rubbed that hand all over another agar plate. The plates were incubated for 48 hours.

As you can see, the Ecohydra does kill a lot of bacteria.
